All communication regarding the tournament (lobbies, standings, etc.) will be shared through Discord.

Tournament

Platform: PC (or mobile)

Game: Teamfight Tactics

Format: Check "Format" below

Games: FFA, Normal Mode

Participants: All participants must study at a Dutch university or university of applied sciences (hogeschool).

Playoffs: Top 4 players per qualifier move on to the play-offs.

 

The check-in opens up 1 hour before the start of the tournament, don't forget to check in! Players who are not checked in, will not be able to participate.

Example: If the tournament is set to start at 19:00, players will be able to check in between 18:00 and 18:45. The last 15 minutes will be used to sort participants into lobbies.

 

Format

Games:

Depending on the number of sign-ups, the number of games will change.

08 players - 4 games (8 -> 8 -> 8 -> 8)

16 players - 4 games (16 -> 16 -> 8 -> 8)

24 players - 4 games (24 -> 24 -> 16 -> 8)

32 players - 4 games (32 -> 32 -> 16 -> 8)

40 players - 4 games (40 -> 40 -> 16 -> 8)

48 players - 4 games (48 -> 48 -> 16 -> 8)

56 players - 5 games (56 -> 56 -> 32 -> 16 -> 8)

64 players - 5 games (64 -> 64 -> 32 -> 16 -> 8)

 

Distribution of points:

1st - 10 points
2nd - 8 points
3rd - 7 points
4th - 6 points
5th - 4 points
6th - 3 points
7th - 2 points
8th - 1 point

 

Tie-breakers:

When 2 (or more) players are tied in terms of points, they will be decided as follows in the order below:

• Number of TOP 1.
• Average ranking.
• Number of TOP 4 or better placements.
• The best ranking of the last game.

 

Incomplete lobbies:

If a lobby is not filled with 8 tournament participants, there will be a random online player. The position of this random player and the points awarded for this position will be lost. (The position of the other players will not change.)

Example: If a random player gets 3rd place, 7 points will be lost. 4th place and below will not move up one position.

 

Schedule:

19:00 CEST  -> Game 1
20:00 CEST -> Game 2
21:00 CEST  -> Game 3
22:00 CEST -> Game 4
23:00 CEST -> Game 5 (Only if we get more than 56 sign-ups)

Tournament Series.

This Tournament counts towards the Tournament Series, so players are eligible to earn points for the ranking of their association:

#1 - 100 Tournament Series points 

#2 - 80 Tournament Series points 

#3 - 60 Tournament Series points 

#4 - 40 Tournament Series points 

 

*Points are only given out when at least 8 players participate in the tournament and only to players who have correctly filled in the "Esports Organisation" field on their profile.

General rules

Discord:

All players must join the Dutch Student League Discord to participate in the tournament. Players who are not able to be found in Discord will not be able to participate. (Make sure that your Discord name in the DSL Discord server is the same as on this website)

 

Lobby:

The lobby leader (player at the top of the list) will create the lobby for the game.

 

Admin: 

The admin has the final say and their decision is non-debatable. Contact the admin on Discord. All communication is confidential, and cannot be shared without permission from the admin.

 

No show:

If a player is not ready to start playing the game 10 minutes after the official starting time of the tournament, they will be disqualified. Before disqualification, this always has to be confirmed by an admin.

 

Scores:

The player who finished first must post a screenshot of the end game lobby in the appropriate Discord text channel with the round & lobby number.

 

Cheating:

Cheats are not allowed. If a player is caught cheating, they will be disqualified immediately en will receive a ban from future Dutch Student League competitions.
